Wireless bridging is using the WIFI medium to connect two separate networks. The devices used to connect the two networks are the bridge. One side can be a standard WRT54G(S), the other can be a WET54 or a WRT54G(S) with the DD-WRT firmware. Usually the networks on both sides are ethernet. If the client network is wireless too, you need the WDS function of DD-WRT.
The DD-WRT side of the bridge is also called the client-bridge, the standard WRT54 is the server side. The function is called client-mode.
Functionally the client-bridge is similar to any wifi card or wifi USB device, but with the advantage you can connect more than one computer.
A DD-WRT loaded WRT54G(S) is also cheaper than a Linksys WET54G(S5).
