Thanks this worked on my older system and cleared up the DHCP lease time clock not decrementing. It also loaded on the new V8 system but alas, I forgot to change the default IP and it also exhibited the same issue I had before with the other system in that the DHCP lease time clock fails to decrement. it stays on 1 day 00:00.
Can you point me to the proceedure to change the software loaded to use the MAC that comes with the unit?
changing the mac address
login with telnet
then nvram set et0macaddr=00:11:22:33:44:55 nvram commit
this will stay until you reset your unit to factory defaults. i'm currently working on a new vxworks killer which automaticly uses the mac address originally defined by the unit. so this change is not required anymore in future.
