On this new Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N, running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/09/10) std, the "nvram get wl0_corerev" test doesn't work: the variable is unset, when I grep the whole list I get:
wl0_corerev=
Also, the wireless interfaces for the two SSIDs I have, are marked ath0 and ath0.1, and a MAC is listed for ath0.

The corerev test is for Broadcom based hardware which is why it's in a section named so. Your model is Atheros based so you should ignore that section. I'll consider how to properly convey the correct interface names for all hardware.
