[edit] Installation
NOTE: For flashing, only connect the device to the computer.
- Read the Peacock announcement
- Connect the computer via cable to a LAN port of your router. Do NOT use wireless.
- Set a static IP on your computer (e.g. 192.168.1.7, subnet mask 255.255.255.0)
- Do a hard reset on the router
- Open the Linksys webgui at 192.168.1.1: if a Management Mode page open, power cycle again
- Leave the username blank and enter "admin" as the password
- Go to Administration->Firmware Upgrade and select 14929 dd-wrt.v24_mini_wrt54g.bin
- Click Upgrade then when complete, wait FIVE FULL minutes
- If not successful, clear browser cache and repeat from step 6
- Access the dd-wrt GUI at 192.168.1.1, and reset the router again
- At this point you can flash a different build, depending on your needs
- Reset your computer ethernet connection to auto IP and DNS

- Download and unzip OEM firmware [1]
- As above, reset then go to the DD-WRT GUI, enter a username/password
- Go to Administration->Firmware Upgrade and select WRT54G_v4.21.1_fw.bin
- Click Upgrade then when complete, wait FIVE FULL minutes
- Access the Linksys webgui at 192.168.1.1, and reset the router again
- Reset your computer ethernet connection to auto IP and DNS
