- | My one came with OEM firmware 3.37.x.xxx, so I upgraded to OEM 4.71.4.001 then 30-30-30 reset. Installed dd-wrt.v24-14853_VINT_micro, 30-30-30 reset again. Firmware worked great right away, so I went for dd-wrt.v24-14853_NEWD_big which flashed without a hitch. One more 30-30-30 reset. MAC address clone to retain same IP, static DHCPs set etc. I upgraded from a WRT54G v1.1 which I'm now planning to use as a wireless bridge for an Xbox 1 and I must say, webgui and internet access speeds seem improved over that model running dd-wrt.v24-14853_VINT_std-nokaid. As the GS v1.1 has 8MB of flash, even with the 5.85MB big (aka mega) build installed there should be enough space left over for a JFFS2 partition for storing IPv6 tables and the like. I do believe WRT54GS v1.0-v3.0 routers are among the finest Linksys has made as they allow for a lot of versatility with your internet connection. | ||
