serial to ethernet

There is a chance to turn LaFonera as a Rs232-Serial-port-to-wireless adapter? In this way, we could use the first fonera to connect via rs232 to the 2nd Fonera, by using a pc without serial port.

Couldn't you just take and put wires between them? From one hacked Fon to the other and just open up the stty port to see whats happening using a program? I'd be willing to try but I don't know a thing about serial ports and what is actually involved nor if the software to open a serial port console is included in the Fon's software packages.
