You can use every Car USB Charger (5V Output) and connect it to La Fonera or build it yourself with a LM7805 voltage regulator and a little heatsink. With one of this circuits you can power the fonera with batteries which have more than 6Volts. You can even use a LiIon battery and a stepup circuit. For those willing to take the LiIon approach, make sure you get a battery with built-in battery protection, which prevents the battery from bursting in flames (literally) when shorted, over or under-charged.
