-Maybe we should remove the rest of documentation here or just rename it to:+
-= How you should not try to remove the fon-logo on your LaFonera =+
- +
- +
-This info has been added as I've seen a few people trying to remove logos from the Fonera using kinda bad methods and clearly failing miserably.+
- +
-Note that this method has not actually been tested and judging by other people's results on other plastic material, '''it may not work too well''' but is probably better than sandpaper / drills / god knows what...+
- +
- +
-Anyway, basically, apply sugar to logo area and rub it in. You can view more details at http://www.instructables.com/id/EFHU5V6TKYERIE2SMP/ where the method is tested on metal phone covers, not the plastic Fonera cover, but it's worth a try if you're gonna remove it anyway.+
- +
-Another method is to use 600 grit sandpaper to remove most of the logo, and then use Brasso to restore the shine. Be careful and avoid the text around the indicator lights!+
- +
-:I would say start with a much higher grit, 1500 or 1000, and see if that takes off the logo. Otherwise you will have to use higher grits after the 600 to get rid of the scratches. Also, use 'wet and dry' paper '''(example: [http://www.onlineindustrialsupply.com/abrasive-sheets-silicon-carbide-waterproof-9--by-11--paper-sheets.html] you should be able to buy sheets individually, or in small packs of about 4 sheets)''', not normal sandpaper to get a smoother finish. You can get very fine paper like this in car part shops for use on paintwork.+
- +
-:Soak the 'wet and dry' paper in water for 30 seconds or so before using it, and make sure it stays wet while sanding. You can also add a drop of dish washing liquid to help lubricate the paper while sanding. I recommend laying the paper on a flat surface, and rubbing the case against the paper to make sure you get a flat finish. It may take 3 or more minutes of sanding, so be patient. The perfect method of logo removal

forget anything what you read here before

Yesterday i tried to remove the logo with "stainless steel cleaner" from aldi (supermarket in germany) and "kitchen paper".

You got the unwanted fon-logo removed in 5 minutes.

Do not use water in this procedure, because it will not work very well! Only use water on the last step of the removal to get it more shiny. This works without any scratches and more perfect than anything else.

Things needed for the removal:

  • stainless steel cleaner
  • kitchen paper
  • 5 Minutes of your free time

Alternate Methods
