As always, things in [ ] are optional and | means or
ip [ OPTIONS ] OBJECT { COMMAND | help }
Ex: To get help on the link object, one would enter
ip link help

Objects can be any of the following. (A short description of each should be added)
link kkl route rule neigh tunnel maddr mroute monitor
[edit] OPTIONS
Options can either be the short or long version
Ex: ip -V is the same as ip -Version
-V[ersion] -s[tatistics] -r[esolve] -n[num tables]| -f[amily] -o[neline]
[edit] family
Family itself can take additional options:
inet inet6 ipx dnet link
