-=== Notes for GUI flashing ===+
-GUI flash tool present in v1.12 firmware includes JavaScript check for the filename specified for the substring "DIR330" or "DIR-330" which does not present nor in DDWRT nor in stock firmwares. So you have to rename files manually.+

-=== User Comments ===+

-I got the following comment from mobidutch in a PM. I hope he does not mind me posting it here. It still needs to be verified +

-Anyway, you should be able to use the firmware upgrade page of the factory firmware to flash to DD-WRT. Use ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/07-21-09-r12533/broadcom/dd-wrt.v24_mega_DIR-330.bin this build. You can TFTP it as well, whichever your preference. +

-NOTE: Edited to remove the link to an SP1 build added link to BS 12533 Dir-330 build instead. - Mordak 9-04-2009+

-The following is a fragment that Janis send me in a PM. Hope he wont curse me for publishing it here. Its closely based on the DIR-320 flashing guide.
+
- +
-
+
-0. Power on your DIR-320;+
-1. Plug into LAN1 (PC is 192.168.0.xx );+
-2. tftp -i 192.168.0.1 PUT firmware.bin or do the same with tftpd32 (click upload).+
-3. Shortly disconnect power (~0,5sec) and plug DC jack back.+
-4. When link comes up, press ENTER quick, frequent flashing light shows, that software is uploading;+
-5. WAIT!!! for some minutes, until SSID dd-wrt comes visible.Reconfigure PC’s IP and+
- +
-This method is quite safe, just do not interrupt flashing. If flash is not successful and/or DIR (this-Broadcom) is not booting up, repeat procedure, try different flash image. Normally flash-procedure is done in couple of minutes. Sometimes is problem, that boot-delay is to short and lan-link do not comes up so fast (see step 3).+
- +
-Plug into LAN Port 1 (for DIR-320 it is right). +
-
+

-I talked to chale in a PM and asked how he had flashed his box. He used v24-RC7 and his answer was
+
-
+
-I used the GUI. +

-I just flashed my DIR-330 with v24 vpn version. You can use firmware update procedure supplied in v1.12 of the D-Link firmware. This feature is on the maintenance tab of the Web GUI and you will see firmware as an option on the left. Make sure you check for updates even if you know you don't need any, as that seems necessary in order to have the system use the binary you supply.+
- +
-Don't use Chrome as of this date. I kept getting "page not found" when trying to flash after applying and couldn't figure out what was going on. Firefox worked fine.+
- +
-Also, DD-WRT defaults to http://192.168.1.1. So, make sure you try and hit the web gui at that location and not http://192.168.0.1, otherwise, you may get a DNS error like I did! ;)+
- +
-Also, I noticed some "strangeness" after the flash, things like memory values weren't appearing .. applying changes seemed to not work. To fix this, I telneted to the router, logged in, and then did an "erase nvram" and then rebooted. Seems like its been working pretty well since then.+

-=== Note ===+
-I am sure someone a lot more fluent in the WIKI page creation can smooth this out a bit. Really just wanted to get something started. I think it would be really neat to have all the information for this device in one semi-clean wiki page. So start posting !+
