Installation Instructions
Please note: The RT-N10U does REQUIRE the K26 Firmware builds as Broadcom has not released drivers for the non-K26 builds. (Read more here: Recommended Firmwares).
Principle steps
- Clear settings (Clear NVRAM)
- Install the INITIAL ASUS RT-N10U version of DD-WRT (file name ends in .trx)
- Clear settings (Clear NVRAM)
- "Upgrade" to your final version of DD-WRT (filename ends in .bin)
- Clear settings (Clear NVRAM)
How its done
- Clear settings (Clear NVRAM)
- You might be able to upload the .trx file using the stock web GUI
- Or you can likely set it in "Recover mode" (same as other Asus routers) and then use one of the tftp utilities to serve the firmware to the router.
- Current tftp utilities are:
- Asus Recovery utility.
- see Asus_TFTP_Flash for 7 other tftp tools/mentions for Linux, Windows and Mac
- Clear settings (Clear NVRAM)
Upgrade to newer DD-WRT
- Clear settings (Clear NVRAM)
- use the DD-WRT web gui: Administration -> Firmware upgrade
- Clear settings (Clear NVRAM)
